Dallas 2012 trailer

- Starts with an estanblishing shot of the Dallas skyscrapers, letting us know that not  much has changed to the city itself apart from getting slightly more modernised
- The theme tune has not changed, showing us that the new Dallas will be just as dramatic as the old one, when the characters are speaking the non diegetic sound of the theme tune ducks slightly to give us clear dialogue
- "Oils the past John Ross", this could suggest that Bobby and JR are the past, the two children now need to take over and find something new
- The fast paced montage edit suggests conflict, within the montage edit there are text, 'Money, Power, Rivalry' this is what the Dallas story is about, money brings power, and with power comes rivalry. As the show is centred around the Ewing family it suggests that the money, power and rivalry will come from within the family itself
- Bobby - "I don't want them to end up like us", Bobby believes that if his and JR's children go down the same road they went down, they will end up just like them, without the status which they once carried
-  JR's office is very dark and shady, representing JR himself
- There are still shots from a helicopter suggeststing they still have some wealth
- There are now more younger and sexier characters, the show is trying to pull in the children of the people that used to watch it, the older characters do not need introducing as the audience of Dallas know who they are
